to all those who kindly responded to my posts previously. When I was told to leave it alone and it would get better all by itself, I found that hard to believe (with my hair at least). So I continued messin with it as usual and ignored all that great advice. :&
I couldnt understand why after only 5 months my hair was nice and tight but growing straight, thin and hard. Someone said it was a good thing that I skipped out the loopy stage, but I wasnt happy 'cos it looked as if I was going to end up with very boring dreads. But now I know what I was doing wrong.....and its all sorted. Now I feel very silly, and dim :p
I was dampening my hair each morning and giving each dreadie a quick palm roll. I had no idea it was preventing movement in the locs. Then last week, I got lazy and for the next two washes I didnt palm roll the lengths of the dreads as usual, instead only rolling just any roots if needed, leaving the dreads to fluff up and go nuts. WOW... they've really loosened up, and already there are tons of loopies and kinks happening, its great!
Thing is, I didnt know they'd go so crazy because ever since I started them Ive been palmrolling! Im still in shock, actually. Finally Im going to get shrinkage, and end up with fat dreads!!! I had no idea palm rolling made THIS much difference..... I just *had* to post this, 'cos its so exciting. It has opened up a fun new world for me , and I wanted to share my joy. :D
