a few weeks ago i stopped with the whole dread process. idk if this is considered stopping but i washed with normal shampoo and have been ever since. my hair was kind of short, so if i want to start again ill wait until it is a little longer, and i have noticed when it is longer it knots up a lot faster.
nope. dr. bronners made my hair smell like it was burnt by a fucking hair straightener, so that was filthy... even if i used normal shampoo i can still start the process again.
...There are many alternatives to Bronners. There are many different scents of bronners! This thread confuses me.
You know, WorldPeace used normal shampoo right from the start of her dreads. I wouldn't consider you've stopped unless you untangle it all.
:O ORLY??!! Does that mean I can go back to herbal essencessess's sexy smelly shampoooooo?!?!? Nononmom those shampoos get me all weak at the knees
Yeah she said that she used regular cheap stuff and when she cut her dreads out she cut one open and there was nothing in it but a bit of dust. Which makes me wonder what is the significance of using non residue shampoo? Is it just preference or?
Ooohhh wow... well that does throw open the whole non residue debate thing xD Knowing that now, the only reason I'd carry on using bonners or anything would be for the washing routine, I kinda like not washing my dreads for a week lol xD Plus if I were t switch back to normal shampoo, especially herbal essences, that made my hair greasy the day after I used it, so I'd have to wash my hair every other day... My dreads wouldn't have time to dry!! But meh I now have an excuse to smell the herbal essences shampooos xD
I've used reg shampoo in the past.. But I'm so used to using Bronner's that reg shampoo feels like gloop on my hair and too chemically. Also on my first set I had to use regular shampoo because I couldn't afford non residue shampoo and it didn't hurt my dreads.
On my last set I used shampoo and I didn't like the residue that got caught up in my roots. It was sticky and gross. Water & tea tree oil > sticky grossness
