Hello, at my university, I'm enrolled in a conceptual design course, and of all things, we're going to design a machine to automate a lot of the monotony of the dreadlock process.

We're currently working through some designs, and we'll be taking our research to mechanical engineering to make a working prototype, but what we really need is some survey info, especially from people who have dreadlocks.

This machine's purpose would be used for both making dreadlocks, and maintaining them.

We would appreciate it if you could could complete this short survery:

    Thanks.

Wow. Dude, that's probably the gayest thing I've ever heard of.

The entire point of having dreads is going through the process you're trying to replace with a machine.

Find some other way to make money, douchebag.

    Well,
The idea to have a machine to do dreads is impossible, And if you can prove me wrong than try it! Twisted around hair with wax doesn't count!

Societies so weird. We have machines for everything.

I think that the machine would be expensive as the market for this would probably be pretty small in demand. Fads might result though.

I'd find interesting how this would actually dread hair. Especially since everyone has different hair textures and width of hair strands.

Could you show a couple ideas of how you'd actually do this?

WOW i'm soo soo sooo shocked to how people have responded! why so negative.. and i mean in a communicational way.. words like gay, and stupid.

yes i cut off my hair cause i started them for the wrong reason and i used wax.. a product to have tight/nice dreads fast. (doesn’t work)

and now i'm going on a natural journey to have dread-locks.

but they simply just wanted you to fill out a survey not be rude and diss them...
who cares if we dont agree with the "machine" we can simply say sate our truth by living our path and being a role model and example. Not judging others therefore creating unnecessary conflict.

Just asking to be conscious of our speech, ever have a right to there opinions, but we can be much more friendly about how we approach the situation.

I think a lot of the responses were too rude. It is just a concept. If I could spend less time backcombing each piece of hair, yes I think I would. No probelem with that

that raccoon is out of control cute. THanks for wearing live fur, not dead fur :). I want to kiss his little cheek!
