I actually just made some babies hehe... they're kind of difficult though!

I know everyone says not to worry too much about the roots because they will knot themselves over time and what not, but I keep getting really paranoid about it!!! AHH!

    they were backcombed...
but, after that I started backcombing them with my fingers/hands a bit everyday and then palm rolling, then hand/finger backcombing some more, repeat repeat repeat, til they felt tight.

oh, and maybe they look different, because before I start finger-backcombing, I pull the dread tight, and twist it around my finger a little.

My hair is impossible to palm roll without doing this often... my dreads become very flat and awkward and there's no way in hell you can palm roll them without doing lots lots of pulling, twisting, and finger backcombing.

I'm a tad obsessive about working on them constantly.
    They're my babies.

they look so good! just leave them alone, they look wonderful and they'll just keep getting better. I have the same bead in my hair that you have in the right picture, the striped one :)

gl with those babies, you have a wonderfull beginning, looking better then mine, and ive had mine for almost 3 months

    thank you everyone :)
They're really coming along, and progressing pretty quickly. They're tightening up extremeeeely fast.

The scalp itch is getting a little insane... but I'm a tough bitch haha

Holy crap! Those dreads are only 5 DAYS!?

You, my friend, are going to have AWESOME dreads.

I find myself amazed at the different results for different hair and people. I wish mine would lock up that fast!

    thanks everyone,
i had to pretty much re-do them last night/re-backcomb... I woke up yesterday morning and they were all falling out, and I suspect its just because my hair got too greasy or something. So I re-backcombed them tightly, and washed with dread soap, and they are doing MUCH better now.

:) Ill post pix again soon
