Well, for all the good it did to get our independence, we should have stayed part of Britain-the British probably have more freedom today than we do. I celebrated the Fourth of July today by singing God Save The Queen and then taking a long nap.

 

It amuses me that "My Country Tis of Thee" is the same tune of "God Save the Queen"

Yea, me too. "My Country 'tis of Thee" was written by an American clergyman that was too dumn to realize that he was actually composing a song to the music of the British National Anthem. He found the notes laying around somewhere and didn't even realize it was the music to God Save the Queen!
