im a soldier currently serving in iraq. i have had many battles and lost some good friends, also i have recently received a gunshot wound to leg and have been experiencing ptsd symptoms. but nothing to bad. during my recovery, i have learned of this new and exciting substance. i am a seasoned user with many succesful 'trips' with mushrooms and lsd in the past. i have never had a bad experience. my question is since this new stuff seems incredibly mind altering, more so than lsd, or that is my opinion from what ive read. does anyone have any facts or genuinly honest opinions on whether i should try this out, or do you think my past might cause me problems during usage. thanks guys, appreciate it.
I find the 2cs to be less "mental" trip than acid and shrooms were, but that's simply me. Much more visual and sensual.
he means the 2c-(?) chemicals, which as you probably know include many (such as 2c-b, 2c-e, etc.). Check out Pihkal on Erowid for all the basic information on all of these substances. I woudn't say they are more mind altering than lsd, they just have different effects.
I find them to be less mind altering than lsd and shrooms. Of course, let's throw out the universal disclaimers that everyone is has a unique biochemistry, dosage matters, etc. For the record, my usual dosage is 25mgs of 2ce.
I have no doubt that you could successfully and happily enjoy the many delights of the RC world. However, I would caution you by telling you that the most important thing when going into any trip is that you not be unsure. Uncertainty and doubt will usually lead to a bad trip. When you do take that first trip, make sure you've handled your mental preparation in advance.
with no disrespect intended, this is just about the antithesis of my viewpoint. if you're taking a fully psychedelic dose, you're never going to be anywhere close to certain how your trip will go, regardless of any planning or "preparations" you are always UNcertain, and this is one of the most beneficial aspects of the psychedelic experience, in my opinion. the letting go, parting with ego and normal reality, for good, as far as you know at the time. i don't think these substances are more profound than LSD, i think its that they are newer and the dosage is higher than it may be in the future if it continues to be used. new drugs start out with high, very effective dosages, but people tend to, on a very broad scale as a drug-using population, alter the standard dose based on what the most people find likable. for instance, tobacco is VERY strongly mind altering and is even considered a visionary ally by some. when first introduced to the west, tobacco products were incredibly potent, but over time people came to find a generally widely agreeable size, shape, and structure of the cigarette, and developed lower nicotine tobacco (Nicotiana tobacum rather than the much more potent and traditional N. rustica). similarly, originally single doses of LSD were quite large, sometimes as much as 200µg or more, apparently. these days they are FAR weaker (IN GENERAL!) and often require as many as three or four (or more!) hits to reach somewhere comparable to the trips from one hit of "old school" acid. the 2C- series of drugs (2C-B being the all time classic, but unfortunately its illegal) is very new on the scene, and people have discovered most of them are quite psychedelic, and many very pleasurable. people are taking fully psychedelic doses of these on a regular basis, and not often just getting "high." most commercially available doses of LSD are currently at sub-psychedelic levels, and still quite pricey. they are enough to produce a marked shift in consciousness, but are no more than simply getting high unless you take multiple hits, usually more than two or three, in my experience. this would give the impression that the 2C- substances are stronger. more people take them in fully psychedelic doses than do not, whereas people taking acid often have to spend large quantities of money to get a decently psychedelic dose, making it one of the most sought after but economically impractical psychedelics these days. its not uncommon for it to cost 7-10 dollars PER HIT. in reality, i dont feel either LSD or 2C-x are more or less mind altering than the other, it has everything to do with dosage, and the dosages are incomparable.
