I just heard someone mention. 2026 is the US's semiquincentennial. It's 250th anniversary. I remember 1987 which was Michigan's sesquicentennial. I'm also old enough to remember the bicentennial, 1976. It went by too fast I remember. Plus I missed out on something. Something involving President Ford and the tall ships in the harbor. I had no idea what they were talking about but years later I found out or something. I like unique words you know. I don't know if I like semiquincentennial though. I'd have to first hear it pronounced. I brought up the issue of the semiquincentennial once on a message board. I wonder when that was because I thought to myself then how far into the future it was. Very far, I remember thinking. And now we're here. Wow.
