my thoughts is that "the mayans" didn't say anything of the sort at all. nor did thy mention appocolypsis, but rather a cycle of 13 "heavins" and nine "hells", each of which lasting the number of years equal to the number of earth days it takes the planet venus to complete one of its orbits.

this very forum has been arround those coordinates with endless tidium.

2012 my or may not complete the 226th of those 226 year cycles.
it may or may not be the biggining or end of anything, most things of universal signifigance taking somewhat longer then any single earth day, or even year.

maybe it'll be the year i keel over. i'll already be older then my dad was when he did by then. on the other hand, my mom's in her late 80s and still going strong, so maybe not.

    the'll be a u.s. presidential election, or there won't.
some things will either chainge or have chainged or the consiquences of their not having done so will become just that much more appearant.

there really isn't anything that hasn't already happened somewhere, sometime, if not neccessarily as yet to anything living on this earth.

it may be an interesting year though. like all years, it may be one i look forward to.

skateboards may replace automobiles until the pavement wears out, that and or people might finally get some kind of good sense into their heads.

    =^^=

Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe I've heard that when the current Pope dies all the tombs for the Pope's will be full.
Some people believe this will be the end of the era. Don't know if it's the end of the Catholic Church or mankind ?.........

2012 is supposed to be the year that the universe re-aligns itself back to how it started. I'm hoping for big earthquakes and big tidal waves :) Since I live on the coast all I need now is a surf board and a wet suit :)

If the universe were to realign itself to how it started I should think earthquakes and tidal waves would be the last of our concerns!

I do. BTW your age shines through in your posts.

Research. The Maya were smarter than you. Even the dumbest Mayan was smarter than you.

Their astrological predictions are only off by 33 seconds, after thousnads of years.

So, why are you in this forum trolling around trying to get a rise out of ppl? Is your home life not satisfactory? Your life is miserable? So you troll forums making random disrespectful comments?

I don't think your in the right place my friend. We use our minds here. Don't you have a myspace page you should check on or something?

I do have to give him credit for his comment. The myans did do a lot of things that today we consider barbaric or even mindless. There were also many things they were wrong about. They did not have the technology that we do today. (Which, for a majority, I put my trust in.) We are now more able to prevent disasters, if not prevent at least discover before they happen. So, the Myans have been right about a lot of instances. That does not mean that there calculations which were 2000+ years in advance, will be right. Even then, nobody knows what the Myan calander means, when it ends on that date. It could be the day that "Jesus" is supposed to return. It could be nothing or it COULD be a major something.
But as far as the kids argument... I can somewhat agree.

im kinda with lifefunlove on this one, however who knows. Whenever it ends, it ends. People will still be so deep into their own lives that they probably won't even notice. Sad eh?

why do you assume we haven't? or that they'd be so indiscrete as to announce themselves?

sure i'd take with a large grain of salt anyone who claimed to be, but why would anyone who actually was, claim to be anyway?

You obviouslly have no clue what you are talking about. If you really think about it were just as "primitive" as them. We pray to fake statues and we still have people who eat eachother. Next time do some research before you want to put in your two cents. Your quite stupid and need to grow up a little bit before you come here to talk.
