i found a box of my dads old smoking stuff in th basement and a bunch of seeds

id like to start growing them when i get out of the house but these seeds are at least 20 years old will they still grow or have they become dormant?

p.s. is there any way to figure out what strand it is by looking at the seeds?

    thanks

You cannot tell by a visual of the seeds what strain they are.20 year old seeds may germ, but you will have to try and see.Germ rate will be extremely low or next to nothing with that old of seeds, but who knows ,depends on how well they were kept from light exposer and the amount of humidity they have subjected to;they may be a long lost land race brought back from the dead.I have germed 15 year old thai genetics, success rate was very low (1/20).goodluck

...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..... Good Bud/Fat Nugs and SEEDS should NOT be together. Enjoy your Hermaphrodites though. Just remember where that extra weight went when you picked the seeds out of your bud.

Try using mollasses, brer rabbit blackstrap is best. And kelp.
This replaces the spent vitamins and carbohydrates that time stole from the seeds.
Add piranha by advanced nutrients to increase the microbial activity and prevent damping-off from any fungus, that is likely to be on them old beans.
Good luck, I got raging mothers from some old beans- some that i cannot bear to part with if ya know what i mean.
