9/11 symbolizes the united states' descent into a semi police state, IE - the patriot act, we connect 9/11 with this because that is what put us at war in the middle east.
standing in the road getting in the way will attract attention, but I doubt it will change minds. The only thing it will do is assure the conservative fundies that we are indeed bothersome hippies, nothing more. One thing we have to remember is, the conservatives take up a fairly large amount of the population.... and we can't make them go away; unfortunately we need to talk to them on their level, understand that they live here too, whether we like it or not
