Hey all. I'm avoiding other sites where people might offer their help, I know I can come here for help because lifestyles that aren't exactly normal are accepted. I thank you in advance for your acceptance. I won't go into detail about what's gone on in my life to put me in this state, but I will say it's been a lot. I've been through no super traumatizing experiences like rape, sight of murder, neglectful mother, etc., but my life has been no fairytail. I'll leave it at that. I refuse to be working class. It's not that I'm lazy, honestly, I just want to supply the most comfortable life that I can for my family later on. I don't plan on having a full family untill my late 30s. I'm not spoiled, I could definitely be working class until I have a family. I expect to be, and it's not that I couldn't be satisfied with that life. I just have to have the middle or upper class life for my future family-- Plus it sounds pretty nice to me I come from mildly unfortunate households. My mother was making $50,000> selling real estate a couple years ago, hello recession, and made $15,000< last year. My father was making $50,000+ one year, then got a DWI (it's a long story, but it turned out to be bullshit, and the judge wouldn't overturn the decision EVEN AFTER the cop wanted it done.), lost his truckers liscense, and has been unemployed for TEN MONTHS. Yeah, at least my mom tried really hard. I can't expect them to pay for my education. I'm only recently trying hard in school. I'm in the 4'th nine weeks of 9'th grade, and my report card isn't beautiful, but it isn't failing either. I had some trouble, got a suspension over some pointless crap, and my first semester grades were kind of unsalvagable. However, I did my best, and passed. I'm trying very, very hard now, going to 7:30-8:00AM extra points class for Algebra 1 (which I'm not a wizard at, but I pass in), doing my homework, trying in class, etc. I have an after school job making around $10 a day working for two hours. School's the priority though. I spend the remainder of my day relaxing, playing guitar, and writing music. It's my true passion. I'm also interested in the practice of botany, and as I have titled it, "spiritual medicine." I'm no longer a frequent user, but marijuana cured my minor OCD, calmed me down, and in my opinion, has made me a much better person. I would love to find a way to get "out there" sooner. I can't stand being a child any longer, and I know that kids say that all the time, but that doesn't make it any less true. I'm a responsible person, and I don't like having someone else's name on the house deed. Please tell me anything that has ever helped you, I'm looking to plan out the next twenty years, but more specifically, the next 5-10. Thank you for any help I may recieve from you. I mean this with such sincerity, it will be appreciated. P.S. I'm a freak about my grammar, tell me if I made a mistake XD
I remember having so much anxiety as a freshman in high school...you have to find something to occupy your time. Things will fall out as they should. Just so you know that anxiety to get out and leave comes back tenfold by the last two months of senior year... ughh
get a copy of the latest edition of a book entitled "what color is your parachute?" by richard bolles. follow it to the letter! you well learn what is best for you, where your going and, how to get there. neither school or college educate us about this stuff that, is the MOST IMPORTANT stuff in life. enjoy the journey and your life!
I know it's tough to wait, but you really don't have any good alternatives. My best advice is to work your ass off in school and earn scholarships. That was the key to my success. And after you get a job, manage your money carefully.
yes i am. it is not a question of just being in love with it... it works for almost everyone. there is the traditional career/job approach everyone knows about. that system has only a 14% success rate. the non-traditional approach as layed out in parachute has an 86% success rate. now which system would you rather use? it is like i said earler, they don't teach this stuff in school or college. i was like everyone else, i was stumbling around in the dark and blaming myself for "fucking up" in finding work. the problem never was me. it was not being educated in school or college about any other system except the traditional one. now, why in the hell should i let others suffer the same fate i did before, i learned a different way to make my life work?
..soo whats the problem? its entirely possible to become middle-upper class while starting off lower. your a freshman. no need to worry that your first few semester grades werent great, but if your serious about your dream. you need to work your ass off the next 2 and a half years (screw work once it comes to being a second semester senior) in fact, most colleges like having kids who have made drastic improvements however, this change should be significant. study your ass off, get all A's and do well on the SATs and you should be set. hopefully you can get a scholarship, if not, with all A's you can definitely get the financial support you need from a school. There are also student loans. no need to worry, work hard and you shall be rewarded.
that is a good idea stoned but u also have to remember that life is not all about school enjoy, my brother has been in college for 10 years and hes a bartender... but me and my other brother who have not had any other schooling but high school (i got my dog grooming cert. but thats not 2 much) are doing way better than him... and r alot happier debt wise we have none he has thousands so just keep it in mind in the long run prob better to go to college but just dont do it to make "the man" happy
