i figured we have the other thread of place to be.. so what about places you have been asked to leave? places that have signs up saying "no shoes, no service"? places that are just far to dangerous to be barefoot?
I was flamed for advocating barefootedness in Hip Forums. Better wear your flip-flops! (at least until 2012)
Boogabaah! The 24/7 Barefoot Queen of this Forum!:cheers2: How can you start such a thread? You don't even own shoes or socks! Anyhow, just having fun with you! Let's see, I should add something. I'd never go barefoot snow-skiing/snowboarding! (Probably not even possible, but even the thought chills me to the bone!)
ahahah i have been kicked out of places before. such as the salvation army of chico ca... got kicked out last week.
My dad always gave me hell when he caught me cutting the grass barefoot. i wasn't gonna stick my foot in the mower even with shoes on. peace
Places I've been kicked out of: None; I usually carry a pair of zorries with me when in the US, which is the only place I travel where it's an issue. Places where I'd not go barefoot: Barnyards Metal Foundries Open Cesspits Crown of Thorns Vine patches Wrecking Yards Toxic Waste Facilities
My Husband and I was in Phoenix about 10 years ago on vacation. It was in July and the tempature was over 100 degrees. We were in our hotel room relaxing and staying out of the extreme heat. I had to go get something out of the rental car we had, of coarse I was barefoot and I stepped on a metal storm grate in the parking lot, I had blisters on the bottom of my feet and could not wear shoes for a week.
for me the snow. it snowed here in new orleans on thursday. i have lived my entire life in the deep south, except for a three year period in my 20's when i lived in san francisco. needless to say, i have not seen much snow. i attempted to barefoot and lasted about 5 minutes. i returned to my home shivering, i was so cold.
ahahah cute! i've only been barefoot twice in the snow. it'd be extremely hard to last longer than 30-45 minute for me. recycling centers usually have big NO BARE FEET signs posted.
i actually went my whole childhood almost always barefoot... that was until my brother got a nail stuck in his foot. my mum called it quits after that. Ahh...those were the days I also wouldn't go barefoot whe there was poison ivy around. Or in rasberry or blackberry bushes.
The nail thing happened to a lot of my friends in grade school, and I think most of them were wearing shoes when it happened. :B (Because I remember at least one saying it went right through his shoe.) Never happened to me though.. I always look where I'm going, and I've noticed many other people don't. (Because I've had room mates who tromp all over my stuff if I leave it on the floor.....) I wonder if people who went barefoot more often as kids watch their footing more than those who wore shoes all the time? Sorry to be off topic. :B
Riding an atv, doing anything more than going real slow around the yard. You should have on boots that offer rigidity for your ankels.
