So many years ago I grew out my hair and gave myself ~50 dreads using back comb and crochet, which I kept for about 5 years and can be seen here:...
I don't condition my ends or bangs except right after I color, but I run my fingers through them if I feel them getting tangled.
Black dreads are a pain in the ass to photograph, I apologize. Started by sectioning and back combing, then I crocheted for a couple of months...

I've found that if you switch to a satin pillow case the hair has nothing to rub against but itself and keeps my dreads looking hella tidy....

Put henna on it and you can never use "real" color on it again. Coats it/causes a chemical reaction that would cause your hair to break/fall off....
They are already super tidy, I just don't like how they look on me anymore. Ive accomplished the bottom 2-4 inches, ~16 inches to go on 53 dreads!
