yeah brilliant photos - just a hobby? i agree with Matthew - that one is amazing, but they're all well-proportioned.

Thank you. Yes, it's 'just' a hobby. Although I prefer to think of it as a creative process ;)

Nice. I have the same camera and I love it! I'll post some bird pix I took around Christmas sometime soon. I have three lenses. The kit lens, the EFS 18-55, the Canon 75-300 4-5.6 and a Canon 50mm 1.8

Really sharp pix, by the way.

I also use a Sigma 18-50mm f3.5 f5.6DC for indoor shooting (get some nice wide shots out of it) and a Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO for the real long distance work. It's nice, but you really need a tripod to keep camera wobble down. Ideally, I'd like a Canon zoom with image stabilisation, but they're hellish expensive for the decent ones.

You tried the Russian firmware hack on the camera yet?

I agree, even if it wasn't conscious, it's clearly about the menacing nature of fascism ... the goose-stepping, um, geese, the prepared noose... it's all there.

    Turner prize!

They're some good photos, Dok :) Reminds me of the stuff my dad used to photograph

If he was going for the death/Nazi thing, he'd make the picture more frightening. I'm trying to do something like that at the moment, but I'm a PSP newbie :p

I have the hack, but I'm afraid to load it. I guess it voids the warantee. I 'll probably do it eventually anyway. The AI Servo and the manual white balance would be nice.

I've heard that the image stabilization lenses sometimes take sharper pictures with it turned off. Don't really know if it's true or not.

One thing I bought to help with wobble was a wireless remote switch. I got it on ebay for 20 bucks. It's nice for getting myself into those group shots, too.

White balance isn't an issue for me as I do all my shooting in RAW format. If you've not tried that, it really is the way to go.
