Well I have posted something sort of like this before but things have changed and well here's the deal

My boyfriends father is an abusive alcoholic and he needs to leave the situation. I plan to go with him becuase I am potentially carrying his child. We had considered communal living and it seemed like the best option for us. I find out tomorrow if I am pregnant. He is 18 I am 19. He has done carpentry work for most of this year and is experienced. I have never had a job. We need a place to go, we are both very hard workers. A very close male friend of ours may be along if we choose communal living, he is a very talented mechanic, he is 18. none of us have graduated high school. Also another male friend of ours may want to go with us, he is 21 and has served in the military and has also worked in carpentry.

Essentially it is quite the sticky situation, I was wondering if anyone knew any communes in North Carolina, especially ones that are ok with children, would be fine with 3 guys and a pregnant girl and are looking for anything we could offer.

Thank you so very much for any help you can offer

    I really appreciate it

If you want something bad enough you can achieve it.
Beware of Zendik Farm though they are currently in West Virginia.....
You guys are young!! Get away from the abuse, no one should live under that.
    Good luck!

I know we are all very young, that is part of the problem. We all kind of fear that we will be treated as naive people who can be taken advantage of.

We will beware of them...thank you

It is just that his father is really getting worse everyday and he just needs to escape, as far as the rest of us, I am leaving becuase I know that my parents would deal with my pregnancy but I refuse to raise a child wihtout its father simply because its grandfather is an alcoholic.

As far as the two friends of ours they both have had very hard lives and just want to start new...

like I said we are all very hard working and just want to escape the situations together...

any ideas of places we can go will be so appreciated

Search the web, if it's out there it can be found.
There is one place that I know of and that's Alpha Farm here in Oregon, Google it up.....
Area who was one of the "Inner Core" at zendik farm is there last I heard, I don't think this is a bad thing or good thing, just thought I'd mention it. I've been there several times and can say there was not much going on there but there is a lot to do.
I think we may have a go at it again but it will take time.
    Good luck, again.....

    Hi GBD,

All you probably need to do is to check out
    ic.org
    or,
    WOOF

ic.org lists many of the worlds communal situations, and there are several in N. Carolina.

WOOF are websites of organic farms looking for live-in apprentices. They can be a lot of fun, but usually pay very little.
