i like them, although they're self confessed shit. They're not too talented, but they have their charm.
i think they're crap. they're all about an attitude and not about music at all. i dont know how any one can like listening to them. but obviously someone must like them....
They deserve credit for inspiring all the punk rock bands that came after them, but most of those bands went on to be a thousand times better than they were, especially The Clash, I fucking love the clash. Weather or not you like the sex pistols or punk music in general now in retrospect, you have to understand how absolutely necessary they were at their period of musical history. They gave mainstream rock the swift kick in the balls that it had been asking for since the early 70's.
yea, they had the one decent album. I like Sid Vicious' version of "my way" more of an interesting story than an interesting band, but they had some songs
i enjoyed seeing them play live a year or two ago. not for the music, as theyre nothing special there. i just liked how they walked off the stage cuz the crowd kept spitting on em. though after about 5-10 minutes, they came back and got all the young wanna be punks to almost start a riot. fun stuff.
Best predsigned pop music ever. THey gave kids a reason to be angry and made it oh so fashionable. how can you call them overrated?, they weren't trying anything new or progressive.
i like they they are great, but not fuly musically great in vocals term, it was more attitude and being angry about everything on the uk during the time, it was pure youth anger, but they did have a handful of songs that were not bad musicaly but very few. but still a good group. me i prefer generation x (bily idols punk group in the 70s til early 80 maybe before he went solo in 80s.) also billy idol has said he might get back together with generation x sometime soon. since he just released his new solo album the other day. oh and the album is pretty good i'd go say its more of old billy mixed with a little lite drop of his cyber punk albums style and a little modern style.
