From who do you think you enherited more genetic traits from your family members?

To who are you more attached emotionaly?

Do you take pride in your family's history? Share it briefly...

    (I'm just interested :))

For me, I think I enherited the most emotional traits from my grandmother from my mother's side, while most physical traits from my mother. I am also much more emotionaly attached to my mother ( I am not emotionally attached to my father).

My Mom's family, Rubin... has traveled all over Europe from 1500-1900, it is a Jewish family, its roots can be traced to the Reuben tribe of Israel. Family has passed through a lot, yet, pretty much 95% of it was murdered in the holocust.

My father was adopted, he was the son of Polish royalty, whos parents were murdered during the Polish revolution. My "Grandmother", A nurse, and "Grandfather", a top Lithuanian KGB agent adopted him. Thier family history traces to early Russian roots. My father ,by DNA, can be traced to kings... yet, his character does not show it.

id have to say personality, emotionally im more like my father. And I have more of his physical traits,

Im connected better to my mother.

Im proud/interested of my family heritage. My dad came from New Zealand his Father and mother from Ireland. we have a book of Maher’s, which is all about, the Maher surname where we came from and who they were and are.

My mother came from New Zealand her grandmother & father came from Scotland. Don’t really know much about the Cartwright family.

my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather was miles standish, who came over on the mayflower with the pilgrims. he was the guy who got jilted because he was so shy in the famous "john & priscilla" story.

i really don't like my family right now. my twin brother is my polar opposite. he's a right-wing, flag-waving, bush-supporting, war-mongering, bible-thumping chicken hawk, and he thinks i'm going to hell in a handbasket. recently, he disowned me.

    hmmm

i look like both my parents. my dads, dad was born in italy, full italian. i feel close to my italian roots. i grew up around dark skinned, loud italian speaking, eatting pasta guys... My grandfather and his friends very much resembled the godfather. they had each others backs!it was nice being exposed to a first generation italian americans.

Now my mom is Irish and Native American(blackfoot, and cherokee) she is a interesting looking women. 6 feet tall red hair fair skinned, but high cheeckbones and almond eyes.my irish side i really know not alot about... only that i eat cabbage, corned beef on st pattys day. i do have the disire to know more though.now my native american side i feel very in touch with. i do sweats and have been to some pow wows... i feel the native blood in me whenever i'm outside and away from the crazy rat race.

I look more like my Mom than my Dad, I got her high cheek bones, big eyes, forehead, thin body, etc. I got my big german nose from my Dad and also my big hips and butt (big for my size anyhow). No clue where my hair and eye color came from, no one in my family has them.
I am probably most emotionally attached to my Mom, but I'm a Daddy's girl. Don't know how those two make sense together.

My Mom is half Cherokee and half I dunno what, she doesn't know much about her family history. My Dad is full German (he was born in America though), and it shows. Little is known about his ancestors either.

I act so much like my daddy. We look alike so much, it's scary.

I'm closer to him aswell. We're really close. I can tell him anything and he can tell me anything.

I don't really know much about my family history...my family doesn't keep up with that information too well....if that tells you anything. I do know my mom is full Italian, and my daddy is full German.

I'd say I look the most like my mom, I have her hair, her eyes, her lips... but i have my dad's chin and the same body (I mean, my dad tends to be pretty thin, and me too, while my mom isn't fat at all but have more generous curves)

As far as my personality goes, I'm like my dad for a few things and a lot like some unknown family member...

i am very emotionally attached to my mom, and her family. not too much so with my dad, as a result of his not having anything to do with me when i was a kid.

i don't actually think i look like either of parents, nor anyone in particular in my family. i'm told that distant relatives on both sides had red hair, so i guess that's where that came from.

as far as culteral heritage, we are basically your average heinz 57 american white family. dad's side includes some native american blood, but i have no idea what tribe. mom's family is irish/french/dutch i think. basically my family has lived in the u.s. for so long that no one knows/cares where they came from. that's ok, i guess, although it doesn't make for a very interesting story.

i get mistaken as my half sister's twin a lot (well, use to before she had kids.. and she's seven years older than me so it's weird), but between my mom and my dad I have more of my dad's features. since there's no dna realtion between my sister and him, i don't understand.

my mom's family is really into geneology so they have traced it back really far. i'm somehow related to a chinese emporer (i can't spell worth shit), but I'm amazingly white so it's pretty distant. anyways, one of my ancestors came over on the mayflower. his name was goerge something (sorry i just woke up). and he was an indentured servant. his daughter that is the lineage to me, was considered a whore (maybe that's who i'm most like..) and so we can't be in the mayflower society NOWADAYS. it's rediculous. and, if you go forward a number of years, i'm related to john wilkes booth and some dude who was on bonanza or some show like that.

my dad was adopted and we don't know his biological family. so that side of the family history is my dad was adopted in boise idaho when he was 3 weeks old...

I am almost a copy of my mother. Her and I are so alike in personality and also in looks. But females in my family have a history of all looking like each other, it's kind of freakish.

I am definitely more emotionally attached to my mother as well. Her and my one brother are pretty much the only family that I really have anything to say to.

Rumor has it that one of my ancestors was a Scottish king, it hasn't been confirmed, although my brother did research it when he went to Scotland. But I just go ahead and tell people that it is fact.

well, I am proud enough of my family history - France and Ireland about 200 or more years ago and in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia since then, makes for an interesting mix. as for the rest of it, after the day from hell I have had, I am not very proud of my parents though...evil mother mostly. I hope to hell I have not inherited any of her traits.

I resemble my father and his side of the family. Tall and thin built, same eye color etc.

I am more attached to my mother, although my dad and I are pretty close too.

On my mom's side of the family we are supposedly ancestors of Mary Queen of Scots, my mammaw (Grandma) says this is true, I have never checked it out though.
On my dad's side its pretty much Heinz 57, although I am related to a lady named Hannah Dustin, very, very interesting lady, I would highly suggest you guys look her up online, she was one mean bitch. This I know to be true (that I am related to her,) probably like four or five times once removed, but still related just the same.

i wouldn't WANT to be in the mayflower society (and i probably could, if i wasn't such a freak myself...but i don't think they'd want me, either.) i think they're a bunch of elitist snobs. your ancestor was the daugher of an indentured servant, and in puritan society, that in and of itself was enough to get one branded as a whore. so you're telling me that because their ancestor's benefitted from the servitude of your ancestors, and then ostracized them, you're not good enough for their little club? i mean, wtf? my ancestor married his cousin, for crying out loud, because he was a flop with women & john alden stole his babe. that's good enough for them, but the daughter of a more-or-less enslaved servant isn't? the standishes were probably all inbred anyway. they weren't/aren't better than anyone else. the snobbery lasted right up to my mom's generation. fuck that shit!
