http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/02/23/bush.europe/index.html Putin had some tough remarks ahead of Bush's meeting with him. Putin remarked that democracy shouldn't be used as a talking point to try to put one's will on another country. He also said that Russia didn't choose its democracy to please some other country. I hope relations don't become strained between the U.S. and Russia. The issue about Iran is causing problems between the U.S. and Russia also.
ah yeah, they met in Bratislava, in the capital city of Slovakia... Slovakia and Czech rep. (my country) were a federative rep. Czechoslovakia, so I just wanted to tell here something about Slovakia, coz I heard Slovaks hope, that that meeting of Bush and Putin could help to make Slovakia more known country...
I'd like to see Bush make a few diplomatic statements before leaving on a trip to do diplomacy. But he just has to satisfy his own ego and stand up on his perch like a parrot, preach his American version of democracy before leaving for a summit, and irritate all of the people he's going to meet with his condescending remarks.
