I have their name written down on my massive list of bands that I've heard are good but am too lazy/busy to check out... What kind of music are they? Their name is amusing.
they're psycadelic trippy trancy music... go here and theres a flash video to one of their songs... http://www.milkandcookies.com/links/2102/
http://www.shpongle.com/frame-main.htm then you click on 'released' and click on a some of their songs to hear a sample of their music http://www.psyshop.com/shop/CDs/twi/twi1cd023.html here you can do the same. "Are You Shpongled?" is my favorite album They have more of a 'psychedelic' sound. They are confused for electronica but this music is a bit more complex than that but you'll have to listen to the music more closely to understand what I mean.
Wicked group! They have got a new album coming out on the 11.05.05, its called Nothing Lasts, cant wait
Shpongle is wonderful, I'm anxious for their new album to come out; so far I think I've dug every Simon Posford project I've wrapped my ears around... I think my favorites are the Shpongle/Hallucinogen tracks on Secret of the Thirteen Crystal Skulls and Mystery of the Yeti Part 2 or perhaps "Divine Moments of Truth" from Are You Shpongled?, but it's hard to say really-- there's just so much quality material!
Raja Ram, Simon Posford, together, what's more to be said? Shpongle is great. Anyone seen the Liquid Crystal Vision video where they're being interviewed? Pretty cool stuff, kind of a mix between trippy video and documentary on psychadellic culture. Lot's of pioneers in it.
Two thumbs up for Shpongle, they were the first to get me interested in psy trance. I saw that Flashback video and loved the soundtrack hehe
I'm a fan of Shpongle aswell, amongst other psychedelic groups. Raja Ram and Simon Posford are some of the most talented musicians you'll ever hear or see. Those familiar with Shpongle and other projects these two have worked on such as Mystery of the Yeti sure aren't missing out. Those that havent heard anything from Shpongle, I suggest finding somet, speciffically the track 'Divine Moments of Truth' from the album 'Are You Shpongled?' Anyways, they've just recently released the new album 'Nothing Lasts', alot more 'upbeat' then there previous productions, not that that is bad or anything. It's a brilliant album. For anybody wondering 'what kind of music' they are, they're sort of a mix of psychedelic ambient/chill-out and ethnic/world music.
Yeah, Right on, I had heard Shpongle before and loved it. But when I saw the Flashback video, it was just so amazing. I was hooked from then on!
