Well, it's official - my girlfriend and I will be in Amsterdam in 2 weeks and I can't wait. We'll be in Ireland the week before and end up in England, but our 4 night/5 day stay in the Netherlands is highly anticipated. We'll probably spend most of our time in Amsterdam, but are making plans to spend a day somewhere outside the city. If anyone's going to be over there at the same time let me know and we might just have to meet up for a smoke and a drink! Thanks to all the contributors for all the sound advice on this forum -- I'll let you know how the trip was and hopefully come back with some pictures.
Sounds like your going to have a good one. Ireland, England and ending up in the Netherlands. I bet that's not cheap to do, from the USA.
Good Karma to both you kids...... I know how you are feeling. I plan to be in A-dam for 6 days in June. I can hardly think of anything else. Been checking out all the web sites that give coffee shop reviews.... Already have book hotel accommodations and such. Unfortunately my brother has bailed out on his commitment to travel with me. (His wife bitched him into submission) Still I will go and smoke his share of the hash!!! Be careful and create a memory that will last a lifetime. I know the dollar vs. euro exchange rates are not favorable...... I could care less..... I am going to A-dam after dreaming about doing it for many years!!!
Yeah, the exchange rates are horrid compared to my previous trip. Just took a little more time and planning to make it work out. Just 5 more days of work to go and we're off. We're actually ending up in Manchester for the last part of the trip, but we have an apartment set up in Amsterdam and are all but packed for the trip. Thanks for the kind words, Gilby. I've been to A'dam once before and you'll have a great time. The biggest mistake people make (from my limited experience) is going overboard on the weed over there. You have to pace yourself because no matter how experienced you are, the stuff over there will floor you. Seems like everyday I was there last some poor American had to be wheeled out of a coffeeshop :-(
