i live near Rochester, Michigan, and i am brainstorming different ways to go about protesting the war in iraq as well as many other problems with the world today. rochester is full of really really stubborn rich people, and not too many of the kids or young adults or anyone speak their minds, which is why im picking this spot for a protest. hopefully we can open some peoples eyes, even if its just afew, to whats really happening out there.

no matter what the protest will have a large effect on the community, because they're not used to this kind of thing.

Any ideas or words of encouragement would be helpful.
if you would like to join us be sure to tell me!

I live in a hickass military town north of Langley Air Force Base and the Naval Weapons Station here in VA and all that jazz... just wearing a shirt about vegetarianism or bush is enough for people to stop you in the hallway and debate or piss someone off... I need to get out of here. :p

It'd be great... but who in the hell ever protests around here... I mean. How do you go about getting people to get involved in activism around here when if you erase "Vote Bush" from a classroom board you get bitched at by everyone...

its gonna be a challange, but im hoping that if i keep trying these kinds of things after awhile things will start happenin for the good. after all, all it takes is changing even one persons view on something for the better, and then they change one, and they change one, and they change one...

I know... but I'm an outsider here as I have no family that are military. :p Then people chew me out if I continue to work on whatever I was supposed to be doing and I don't stand for the pledge.

yeah, i can see where youre comin from, that would be quite a challenge.

you could always just sojourn over here to michigan and help out here.

remember, abbie hoffman used to get the shit kicked out of him just for wearing the american flag as a shirt and not being for the war. if thats what happens in my eyes thats what happens, its just too bad people always have to react with violence. i wish everyone could just get along and listen to eachother. that would be great.

I find it incredibly strange at times that people try to hurt people physically when they disagree with you... it's like... what the hell... your body is a house. If you want to get them, do it with your mind.

exactly. there isnt a real point in hurting people physically anyways. i mean, hurting someone isnt going to change their mind about a certain topic, it will just piss them off more, and is it really worth it to kill a person just because they believe something....gasp......different?!!?!?!?!

poor George... I never stand for the pledge. Here in Sarasot it seems that the politics are split up 50/50. Protests are fun. Yay.

Yeah... though, I can tell because of the ratios of signs from political parties down there... up here, you notice the Bush people left their stickers on their cars...

I see Bush/Cheney bumper stickers everyday. The election is over... why don't they just give it up? Do they think that having the *winning* sticker on their cars makes them look good, like they voted for the right candidate? It's sick... I feel like I'm in fucking Nazi Germany. We don't need to have signs everywhere in support of our leader.
