i went to this tolerance conference yesterday for a club im in..its called glass..which is gay lesbain and straight student...its an allaince club. i am very pro civil rights and i believe everyone should be treated equal so thats why i joined...it was such a cool day..i went to one workshop which was: "Opression and "the Man"...it was so cool to have a discussion with liberals for a change...it was so awsome....we talked about social power and how it causes opression..and also about corporations, opression from government etc....the leader of the group was a liberal radical and she is a social justice teacher that wants to liberate kids and to teach them that they can question whats going on...really cool...and i also got this amazing bumper sticker..it says: There is No Flag Large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people Peace and love
there arent any around here either. we had one at my school last year called R.I.S.E. it was pretty good, but now all these people think its some sort of cool scene to go there and talk, so they've destroyed it. even the teacher who started the idea stopped going, and its in his classroom!
"There is no flag that is large enough To hide the shame of a man in cuffs You switched the signs, then you closed our blinds You changed the channel, then you changed our minds"
i really dig how system of a down is so involved with the anti war/anti bush movement. its really cool..peace and love
Yeah, they've got a good message, just not exactly my style anymore. (I used to be really into all that.) I still have their CDs though.
