hey everyone i just recently began to sew and i really really enjoy. i know a lot of you out there sew and are really good, and i was wondering if anybody knows how to make apron tops. i do enjoy the ones that kind of lace up in the back, i would be so happy if someone could possibly explain to me how they are made. thank you greatly for your help.

it's really very simple. Its the first thing I made when I first learned to sew as well.
First, take your measurments, measure around you bust, and then from where you would want the bodice to start (which is the top peice) and end somewhere under your breast. Then cut a long rectangle peice. Make sure on all your peices you cut an extra 1/4 " for seam allowence. So like, mine would be 29" x 7" (notice, if you want the back open, you make it a bit smaller than your full bust measurment)

OK, thats first first peice. And then you take the same width measurment, and add how long you want the actual shirt part. Depending how long you want it. I usually do mine about 14" long. From the bottom of the bodice, to the actual bottom hem.
So my bottom peice would be about 29" x 15" (an extra inch for seam allowence just to be safe)
Then you simply can do literally WHATEVER you want with these peices, block peices together, quilt, applique, embellish any way your little heart desires, then just simple sew your two peices together,
then sew a couple strips,(about 5" long) fold in half to make a loop, and sew on the back of bodice...4, 6, 8...however many you want. Then make two long strips ( about 3" wide and 40" long, fold in half, wrong side out, sew along edge, turn right side out) then sew your straps on inside of the bodice about 2 1/2, 3" from underarm. AND voila. You got yourself an apron top. Now put that baby on and proudly display your new work of art.

Hope that made some kind of sense to you and I didn't completely confuse you.
    Good Luck.
