New York, NY - Beloved country entertainer Jerry Reed was arrested and taken to Bellevue County Hospital after a protest in front of Chemical Bank headquarters in mid-town Manhatten. Singer/actor Reed apparently was upset over the bank's refusal to give him a $5 million dollar loan to open a chain of "Jerry Reed's Sushi" restaurants that Reed claimed would put Kenny Rogers Roasters out of business. During the casual loan interview, Reed allegedly erupted when loan officers postulated that most people don't associate Jerry Reed with great sushi. Bank officials claimed in a police statement that "Mr. Reed became red in the face and started grabbing bank customers while yelling, 'They wouldn't know good sushi if it bit them in the ass!' " Later that afternoon Reed attempted to "get even" by stripping to his underwear and playing a guitar in protest in front of the bank. He was soon arrested by NYPD officers while he was singing "They Got The Goldmine And I Got The Shaft." Reed is currently being held for observation.
