Stereotypes and Generalizations...

Do any of you have friends or people you know with whom sometimes your views clash or conflict with each other?... What about stereotypes...?

What views have you come across that you totally disagree with?

I.E. You are too young to know this...

I.E. Most onliners are lonely and overweight

 

I resent that!!!!!




and its not just because I am lonely and overweight

 

We always clash on where to eat and what to do.

 

My mother thinks that all people with piercings are somehow mentally unstable, weird, idiotic and possibly criminal. Which is kind of interesting, because her own daughter (me!) has 6 piercings..

 

Well, being French, and living in the U.S, I must have heard about 5000 fake stereotypes about the French. Like we all wear red berets... that's not true, of course. Or we're blase. Well, that's maybe true.

But anyway, yeah, I hate stereotypes, my boyfriend's father says that the reason why they exist is because there's always some truth in them, but I totally disagree. At least for A LOT of stereotypes. They're more like myths, or legends. Or maybe 1 person was once noticed to have big ears on Mars, and everybody believes that everybody on Mars have big ears. How stupid... generalizations!

Well almost everyone I know is Republican, so we definately disagree about politics, but honestly none of them even know what they're talking about. My dad is a doctor and we live in a nice neighborhood, so everyone assumes that I'm a snobby, preppy, materialistic bitch...but they're very wrong and learn how opposite of that image I really am once they gt to know me.

 

WEll, Im irish so i drink a lot. And im a liberal so i ama baby-killing sex-addict, and im not christian so i am a satanist, and i am white so i am a goody goody, and i am valedictorian, so i dont know how to party-just stusy.

All of these are SO worng!
