EeLo, whats shakin everybody? My name is Jesse im new to this wonderful site. Its took me forever to finally get somewhere like this and it wouldnt be possible with out my best freind Heather to help me find it. Im 14 year old female and im a big enviromentalist, I love to rock climb, play hackie sac, clean and beautify what ugly tree cutters have torn up. Yeah... I've been here for a couple years... It's like heaven/hell on earth.. haha. This forum is pretty close knit.

 

I'm a member of Oceana, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, ACB, and Chesapeake Bay Trust. I'm also an avid trail hiker and I live in both the Dragon Run Swamp and Chesapeake Bay watershed...

I live further South on the middle peninsula in Virginia... just North of Williamsburg/Newport News and South of Fredricksburg.

 

hmm yeah a little too south for me. you may live pretty near my cousins though. theyre in virginia

 

Yeah... the only really good thing about living here is that it's close to Eastern North Carolina... otherwise, not too great of a place. Need to live somewhere with more opportunities...

 

Something tells me you may end up not liking me, but have fun anyway.

Is it just me or is anyone else mad about what the goverment is doing to our peaceful places and our land? I mean what are we becoming besides mad people? Technology is begining to take over and i think that only the medical field and forensics and maybe a few other places should have as much acess to it, i mean why dont people go outside anymore? Everyone is always on their cell phones or doing something that just drains the energy out of them. And i know cell phones can be importon but are the nessacary? ok..in the mountains? why is everyone dress up these days to go hiking what happened to the t-shirts and a [pair of long pants and hiking boots? now you see the fancy people int heir rich clothing and its jsut not right! but anyways its my opinion...i think people jsut need to be a little more relaxed!

Yeah... I was just telling a friend last week while in line for a rollercoaster that I'm sure there's at least one person in one of the lines that is talking on a cell phone. There always is. I'm quite overdue for my 20 mile hike that I do every season... I'm always crapped out afterwards, but I love the feeling.

 

Well its not like anyone knows how to have fun anymore with out electronics and Im just as guilty as anyone else! I wont lie to anyone nor myslef about it , but we have a partial excuse because its winter but my point is that no one can go anywhere with out their cell phone glued to their head or with out their laptop on their lap. Its electronics everywhere and sure you can get pictures of beautiful scenery online but it has much more of a meaning in person in my honest opinion. I beleive the hikes are worth not having a phone glued to my head and being away from the electronics...it helps me realize that electronics arent what keep me alive its everything but. it helps me discover whoI truly am inside and I just wish I could get other people to realize the nature high that you can get from just going outside once and getting away from the citys and towns and just escape the every day drama that we are all faced with day after day!

Well, I only use computers for my music and communicating with people... not like "hey... pork loins are on sale" kind of communicating but actual intelligent and often not-so-intelligent conversation...

I'm a lot more active once the warmth of Spring hits... I like looking at pictures of beautiful scenery in the winter.

 

Im with u and im pissed off about electronics too. I wrote this real good short story about that, and alot of people say its real good. Nobody can be alone with themself anymore now that their cell phones always ringin and junk. i never want a cell phone.
