And if you have no particular use for the trees on your property, you can donate them to your local school or park.
exactly...and there is soo much room to do that too if you just look around, plus i just found it takes like 400 trees to clean the average americans emisions of greenhouse gases.... trees also increase property value of your home too
When I get around to traveling I plan on planting a shit-load of trees wherever I may go. Maybe scatter wildflower seeds where some color is needed. Leave a trail of life behind me.
I looked at this website and the trees they offered me for my area were awesome! I'm going to do it and give my extras to a park.
That is so cool. My dad just got his trees yesterday from them and as soon as it stops raining we are going to plant them. Peace.
Interesting idea, I find it a wee bit commercial though. I mean its good that people are planting trees to show support for a "greener" landscape, however, I don't think its a sound philosophy. In reality the company is shipping trees to your house. Shipping includes putting the trees into trucks to hall them. Imagine all those fossil fuels being used, and how much CO2 is being put out by the large 18 wheelers and airplanes if you live far away from the shipping location. If you have it in your heart plant a seed from a tree that is local to your area. Go on a nice hike, find several dozen and plant them.
you guys are awesome. i totally agree purcolecraze. i wasnt really expecting anybody to take up this amazing offer, but i am sooooooo glad you guys did, i bet you will be too =) and you raise good points prim kid, local is a good way to go when possible... i am doing just that right now actually, i have at least 15 baby maples/sweetgums(not sure) popping up in my yard alone ranging from just a couple inches to over a foot and a few under my neighbors back porch, a pine, a maple and one other i cant ID. i potted like 6 of the maples today to give away eventually, will get the rest when i get s'more potting soil. i bet more will pop up though before i give them all away when they pollinate its just really cool to to plant them and know i will be giving them the life they deserve and help fighting all those nasty greenhouse gases and air pollution, and just planting trees in general is awesome i think. i feel a little more at peace learning to drive now, knowing i'll at least sordove be balancing out the effect i leave on the earth....
