These are mine. So what are yours? 1. Shakespeare 2. Michelangelo 3. Oscar Wilde 4. Tennessee Williams 5. Truman Capote 6. Quentin Crisp (I sorta knew him) 7. Andy Warhol 8. James Dean 9. Janis Joplin 10. Robert Mapplethorpe
Well, a lot of his life is still very much a mystery. But he wrote some convincing love sonnets that mentioned another male. So more than a few critics think he was bi (at the very least). No shame in that. Some might even consider it a plus! Thanks for your comment. Peace, PD
He was bi (at the least). And not only cuz he allowed himself to be serviced by several male directors and producers: More than one actor has written that they slept with him. And Dean did a lot more than just snore in bed. LOL. It's funny. I actually always thought all that macho "camp" of his was very gay. Same goes for Brando. But a lot of straight folks don't pick up on that. BTW, Marlon Brando was also quite bi. I would have included him. But I only had room for ten favorites! Thanks for asking about James Dean. Peace, PD
I don't think I could think of 10 but my favourites are... - Stephen Fry - Oscar Wilde - Rufus Wainwright - Ani DiFranco - Freddie Mercury - Ian McKellen - Rhona Cameron
Alexander the great -- damn finest fag in history. When he was my age, he had conquerred half the known universe.
He was awesome. Except I hear the new movie about his life totally sucked. LOL. So did anybody see it? Peace, PD
let us see if i can think of 10... -tennessee williams (loooove cat on a hot tin roof) -ani -adrianne -miss j. -rupert everette -drew barrymore -elton -rosie -shakespeare (if he really was...i dont doubt it though) -david hyde peirce
I remember watching a staging of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" while I was in high school. The main character, Bunthorne, was supposedly a characterization of the Bard himself -- and Bunthorne was so fey he set off my "gaydar" in spades. -- Skeeter
Awesome choices. But how come nobody mentioned Ellen? (I see Elton made it! But no Ellen...) Peace, PD
Yeah, she slept with a few women, and a lot more men. But she obviously didn't buy into the either/or thing that a lot of folks do. I think Janis was just the coolest. I mean, she hated ALL labels. And tried not to limit herself. So she didn't think there was anything wrong with being gay/bi/lesbian, etc. And wasn't afraid to take a walk on the wild side. Peace, PD
