I'm a caver, a musician, and a crafter. I have a wonderful husband and 2 yr old twin girls. I don't know anyone on here except maybe one person I'm trying to look for (HappyHaHa). I only like to get in controversial discussions if I'm in a rare mood, so I'm usually easy going and I like everyone.

    Any cavers here?

Hello, Mudhippies, nice to meet you. Forgive me for asking, but what is a caver? My English is not good.

Caves are holes in the ground caused by water passage over centuries. Cavers are people who crawl into those holes to explore/conservate/map/rescue trapped spelunkers. Spelunkers are people who aren't cavers, but happen to know where a cave is and blindly follow its passages until their lights fail and they have to be rescued by cavers.

I take it a little too seriously sometimes, I guess.

Caving sounds like fun. I want to be a caver too. You find something interesting in those caves?

Caving isn't really our occupation... it's more like a hobby. My occupation is a homemaker. And we find all kinds of things in caves. Besides beautiful formations, some which seem to defy gravity, we find virgin passage, rimstone dams, shiny salamanders, white crayfish, trash, grafiti, excrement, and sometimes other cavers. We like to clean up the caves. It takes centuries to make a living cave, and only a very short time to destroy and kill it. Its ecosystem is very fragile. Oils from our skin will kill a living formation, so we always wear gloves.

Anyone have any interesting hobbies here?
