I don't believe in it. For any country. I think you shouldn't be too hung up on what's bad about where you live, or what's good. There's a good and bad to anything anywhere. All in all, we're all one world, trying to make it through life just like everybody else. Thoughts?
I agree. Frankly I like America, but that doesn't blind me from objecting to what I see's wrong. Patriotism is a primative notion... back from the days we lived in tribes fighting other tribes over buffalo hunting grounds. We've evolved, and so should our loyalties. We're all people.
I like what George Bernard Shaw said. something like Patriotism is thinking your country is better than others just because you were born there. A lot of truth to that when you think about it.
Having said that, I think the United States is a great place to live, even with all its warts and blemishes. But, there are other countries that are great as well, some that are not. It all depends on the current leadership. The majority of people in most countries are good, decent people that just want to live their lives, raise children, love, be loved, and give every one else that same freedom. It's the leadership that screws everything up!!!!
I'd rather live in England, Canada, Germany, or France before America... they are all as Free as this country is, and much safer too..
y does it matter where ppl live? we should look at the world as one, and not try to split the world into diff countries. we're all different but we're all ppl, y cant we all just get along?......peace
Nationalism isn't patriotism. If it wasn't for nationalist, I doubt we would have an Italy, Greece or Germany.
I don't believe in nationalism at all. Where you were born shouldn't be a factor in judgement of a country. The world is divided into countries so that people can escape countries they don't like the leadership of... that's the only purpouse for dividing the world up that I can think of.
The idea of nationalism is that people of similiar culturals, language, beliefs ect should be governed or ruled by people of the same beliefs. Nationalism is not patriotism.
