I was just wondering if anyoune else out there watches PBS (channel 11 WTTW Chicago here) or the BBC news? Shows like frontline, Sessions at west 54th, Austin City Limits, to name a few (sessions had, like I said to name a few, Widespread, Stringcheese, and Tom Waits all live shows.) And the BBC news offers a slightly less filterd view of what might be going on in the world. Watch those Tellescreens!
Yep i watch them, the accent is sometimes tough to understand but they are truly objective, not like fox news.
I watch BBC world news almost everyday... It is a better view of whats going on... with sexy british accents
I watch the BBC 24 News Channel. Well anyone who has to pay the £110 Licence Fee has got no alternative but to get some of yer money's worth!!.
The BBC are pretty balanced relatively speaking, they pride themselves on being independent. I prefer Fox News though, its soooooooo much funnier! haha
Austin City Limits rocks! I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn on there once! And it's been on forever. And on PBS I will also watch Antiques Roadshow - I know, it's lame!
BBC World News, EuroNews, CCTV News (China), Newsworld International (Canada), and NHK news (Japan) are all good. Watch them and you'll realize how much of a joke and how biased the U.S. cable 'news' channels are. It's a shame that most of these networks are not available in the U.S.
I watch Frontline nearly every week. Just the true objectivity and 'muckraking', as you say. And my dad usually watches the News Hour w/ Jim Lehr at night.
