I don't really need gas money, but anything would help. I am ganja friendly of course!
Cumberland Gathering KY full moon in May. That's toward the end of that month, I believe. You may wish to bump your departure date up a week or so.
thanks bro...it's good to know there is active family happenings there in Kentucky...i am moving there to rejoin my kids and intend to find drumming and other essential things in and around Louisville this summer. I will keep my eyes and ears open for more.
i have heard about the gathering in ky at the end of may but havent really found out much more info... i have never been to a gathering and i am really excited but noone will help me find more info please someone help... pm or post thanx Peace
aww, you dear sweet thing! When you go to your first gathering, be prepared to be forever emotionally enhanced. It is a spiritual experience. Gatherings are held in nature sanctuaries....and it is good to get away from even the kind folks all around and find solitude to commune with the powers of life while you are there. There is an amazing sense of freedom that one gets when one realizes how generous others can be, with food, herb and hugs. There is no such thing as a stranger. It brings out the best in people. When you finally have to come back to "Babylon" you will never feel isolated or alone again, for there are brothers and sisters everywhere, who will be a part of your extended family forever.
I couldn't agree more. The only single event that has had a greater effect on my overall outlook on life would be, maybe, the first time I had sex. I have no children, that I know about. Becomming a parrent would be the only other event I can immagine that would affect me as greatly. HUNNNH?? Which Gatherings have you attended? I have NEVER seen, or heard of, a Gathering in a nature sanctuary. Should the hippies decide to gather in such a place, I am fairly certain USFS LE&I would run 'em off before they could boil enough water to make a pot of coffee...and I'd be on their side! The only way I know of to find solitude at a Gathering is to ask for help carrying water, or supplies, or digging a shitter. There is an amazing sense of sleep deprevation that one gets from being on duty at Font Gate for 36 hours, when there is no one else available, willing, and half-sober, to do the job. Got any free food? K.O. I have every confidence that you and I will learn to speak the same language with regard to our Gathering experiences. ff, please take note of an Epiphany I had at this past Ocala Gathering: The only thing all of us who like to go to Rainbow Gatherings have in common is, all of us like to go to Rainbow Gatherings.
Otter is not using the phrase "nature sanctuary" as you are, Wandering Turnup. A "sanctuary of nature" (no guns in the church!) is perhaps a better metaphorical way to put it, to not confuse it with a specific type of place, in which case "national forest" would be more appropriate. *dismounts her high horse* *watches high horse shake off FS gear and dance in the circle, whoah, musta been good herb*
yeah, the tech term in the formal sense is National Forest. With capital letters...but it's all the same to me. Silly wanderingturnip! all you have to do to get solitude at a gathering is walk off somewhere where there aren't any people!! I know it can be hard to leave the party, but we all need to just go get with our creator from time to time. I love helpin out in kitchens though. BObbinbecca, on a cooking note.....i saved the pancakes last year in ocala in kiddie villige, when the master pancake maker Jonathan was not around for some reason... from a brother who, while well intended insisted on grillin'' em up in a pan used for cooking something other than pancakes and they were all getting totally black...he did NOT want to change this little scheme... so i, being a mom and seeing that there were hungry kids to feed who were not groovin' on black pancakes, used my otter magic and stood the brother down...it was a lesson in sensibilities for all concerned. God bless all who provide food!
Jonathan died, late last month, early this month, sometime. Suicide, intentional OD. I saw his obit on AGR, somewhere.
Oh mY God!!!! That is soooo sad! Jonathan! He was a good man! Maybe it wasn't intentional. He seemed so happy and full of life! Thank you for telling us.... i will really miss him.
Are you sure we are talking about the same Jonathan brother? Stout, red hair, full beard, larger then life ruler of the pancake batter, and great chef in general, super nice person? That Jonathan?
