I generally prefere Laurel and Hardy, W.C Fields, Marx Bros., Chaplin, Buster Keaton. The best recent comedy I've come accross is Dumb and Dumber.
I am very picky when it comes to movies. It takes quite a lot to impress me and Hollywood doesn't do a very good job. I would have to lean towards the cult genre. More specifically, Japanese shock horror.
clarify that if you wouldnt mind? most stoner flicks are cult films anyways seeing as they aim at the cult of bud.
While I understand why some films are "cult" classics, I don't understand how ones favorite genre of movies could be a cult genre. Let me put it this way...when a movie comes out it is nothing more then the specific type of movie it is (comedy, drama, action, etc.). Now when this movie builds a huge fan base of people outside of the mainstream media, it becomes known as a cult classic but it still falls under the specific genre which it belongs in. How can a movie fall into the cult genre (if there is sort of a thing) when it has just appeared in theatres or any other place you may watch movies? Wouldn't you need a following of some type in order to possibly name it a cult film? Basically what I am asking is when a new movie comes out, do you think "ya, this falls in the cult genre,"? I dunno what I'm talking about.....so let me go hug my bong for a bit
By the way....I voted for drama. And then I noticed you can vote on multiple ones (or maybe it is just me) so I voted for comedy as well. Well glad i got that off my chest.
art house, foreign and of course comedies....but only stupid stuff...you know how stuff can be so stupid that's so funny?
