I have a kayak! I've never done any serious trips though... usually just down river or in the sound. It'd be cool to go on a long expedition! I'd love to get a sea kayak but their so expensive! :S
Go to the anglesey sea and surf centre they rent them pretty cheap there i think. Im a level 2 coach but i neve rhave time to go out at the moment, but i wanna get up to level 3 cos a few outdoor centres are after me so i need to get about 50 hours teaching in during summer.
Thats cool! I did a star level in kayaking but I never go to the lessons any more. I just enjoy going out on my own! I need a new spraydeck though... mines like 15 years old and leaks!
hehe leaky spray deck never a good thing lol.....i can sign off certificates up to 2 star which is funky
you can pick up a used one pretty cheep.i paid $1,100.00 for my sea kayak and $400.00 for my river runner. frog
My kayak is old too (but it doesn't leak!). I paid £50 for my kayak, paddle and spraydeck from a friend! Can't get a better bargain!
I got my dad to pay for mine....can't get much better than that lol My claim to kayaking fame was i helped teach Mr Pyrana's son to kayak
A few years ago I build my ply Canadian from a kit, plenty of room for camping gear. But now fancy a lighter sit on top or folder, any recommendations ?? Gymnobuff.
hehe i thought so too, but hes 3 star now so all is good. I have to say i need to do some more kayaking but i never have time at the moment *sigh*
We have done some trips out of a 17ft Canoe. Wonderful way to see the world Our stuff did not get wet. The boat held all the equipment without getting too full or tippy. I suggest calm rivers or a lake.
I'd love to go touring with a friend in a '2-man' kayak. But I guess it'd take a lot of planning and none of my friends go kayaking!
