I watch from my window the streets that are dark.
I see what people seldom notice in the wink of and eye, the flash of a spark.
I watch the people who are filled with their own lives.
Unfortunately, from my window I also see thier demise.

The young lover who is rejected by his loved,
The old man who hasn't anyone to love.
The widowed mother who weeps for her children gone,
And the innocent child unaware of what goes on.

I see these people and every day I cry.
Everyday I watch these people die.
Whether they die in their body or soul,
They don't realize that I know their heart whole.

I have seen them run into the alley to cry,
I have seen the homeless men who sleep in the alley and die.
I have seen the stray who looks for a bite to eat,
And I have seen the widowed women who live every day by the heartbeat.

All of this I have seen, and nothing have I done.
For me you see, the battle has been won.
For I am the person whom no one ever sees,
For I am the person whom no one knows breathes.

Fooled them all I did, in the wink of an eye,
Unfolded my wings and flew into the night sky.
Dissappearing into the nights that go by,
I am nothing and yet something the same.
I am the nothing that has no name.
