    Hello!!
Sal (Paradise) and me are going on a crazy trip to India for the whole of October! This idea was dreamt up the other day while singing, from the original idea of going to Finland for a week quickly escalating to going to beautiful India for a whole month!! hahaha!
its gonna be AMAZING... Indian music and culture fascinates me and to actually go there and experience it with my bestest friend is gonna be incredible.
    love Jaz

yea dude seriosuly its a big cultural difference out there. read up on whats accepted and what isnt before you go.

Also be carefull what you eat and drink, as tempting as the fresh fruit that is sold there looks, remember your bodies arent as accustomed to the little bugs and illnesses that the locals bodies can fight off without them even knowing.

I've heard India smells vaguely of shit.

    As I have a weak stomach I don't think I'll visit there.

Anyone else been to a third world country??
Do they smell of shit also??

i'm really happy for you man!! you can be pirates with us another time!!

if you're on a tight budget, go to the library and get out the lonely planet guide to india. they are always full of useful tips on pretty much everything you need to know. if you're not on such a tight budget then go and buy the book! would be well worth it!

if i think of anything else usefull i'll let you know!

    peace and love

My advice would be to be very careful about where you go. In some remote parts of India there are active and very violent bandits. I know of someone who was robbed and shot, after their girlfriend had been raped and shot. This was somewhere near the Kashmir border.
Also - be careful not to get busted with ganja by the Indian police - it usually means six months in jail, unless you can afford the bribe, and Indian jails are not nice places.
Planning your trip is the key, and researching it all beforehand.

A Bribe to an indian policeman would be peanuts, metaphorically

True enough. Getting your money ripped off is a bigger danger.

Hmm I haven't heard any India horror stories myself... my friend Rachel just came back from 6 months there on a pilgrimage and she was soo buzzed up from the whole experience and is saving up to return.

Hopefully I'll get to go next year... Have a great time Jaz:D

Yeah - it all depends where you go. I'm not trying to scaremonger, but the incident I mentioned did happen. The thing is though that up near the Kashmir border area, there are armed factions all over the place, and they cross over into robbery etc. as a sideline. So probably, that's not a good place to head for.
