Might be the only show I see this year if I have to start a new job. Anyone more cheeseheads out and about?

SCI is real nasty. I saw them over thanksgiving break w/ robert randolph it was a real good show. Im hoping to see them again soon cuz they are one of the best bands out right now.

I've been catching SCI since 1997.
lots of changes have gone down, but I have yet sto see the "new guy."
Heck, I have pix of Michael Kang with long hair floting around...
Billy's daughter taught me to hoop at the Mishawaka 1998.

i was there too...the crowd was felt kinda young, but i had no problems. everyone was nice. robert randolph ruled, but i didn't really get into 'give it away now' .... it felt fake, even for a humourous cover. all in all, sci sure doesn't suck, but i'd take moe. over em any day.

*grabs her hoop, and starts groovin'*
I love the cheese man! their shows for me are a spiritual experience. It's just one of those things you know? They will be at wakarusa. Have you heard any of DJ HArry's stuff? He mixes using Cheese samples. It's great!

underwhelmed, cheese doesnt come close to picking up where GD left off. They arent even in the same ball park. Phish perhaps, but not SCI. Really though no one can do what GD did.
i went to the NYE SCI show at radio city music hall. It was a great show with great vibes but they dont compare to phish or GD. I agree with the person who said they should be thanking phish for their hiatus. SCI would never be as big as they are had phish stayed touring.

    and back to the thread...

SCI is not a phish knock off, at least when I was around. sure, I saw Kang shaking his a** to phish pre show alot, but the Jerry marks are there. And LucPonty and Drew emmett.....
But I was around for the bluegrass days.
Rivertrance was new at my last show.
What I did hear from good sources was the crowd got REALLY young. I was middle of the age span at 27-31.

The first cheese songs i listened to were black cloud and restless wind. That was back after i had gotten into moe. I love when cheese gets grassy. I saw them in chicago both nights last fall then 2 nights after thanksgiving in fall. very different shows. If i can remeber correctly cheese started to throw in a rave sound in new jersy. It was almost a let down. But i think for that crowd it ws cool. As long as the band is happy with what they are putting out im cool. But i like cheese i kinda wish i saw them maybe 5 or 6 years back. and i dont think any band is taking ov er what the dead or phish left behind. I think they whole thing exploded and spread. Instead of most people liking one band its many people enjoying many bands. Or atleast thats how it is in chicago. Any chicago fans psyched for the next 3 months of shows?
