hey there, just wondering...dont you think it's awful strange that as soon as one of australia's finest leading actresses wins and oscar or any other accolade we begin to call them "our Cate" or "our Nic" etc.... Why do we claim them like this....meaning our media representitives....it's all you hear for weeks after as if their achievements reflect upon us as a nation....as if we only claim them when they do good in our eyes... what are your thoughts on this...am i the hipforums "our clockworkorangeagain" or do i have to be awarded first..lol
I suppose Australia is just proud of an Australian doing so well they boast about it abit by referring to them as 'Our Cate' or whatever... Good point though, we refer to them as such once they win something...
hehe i thinks it more,,, people want to be able to relate to these people as they are doing "well" and by stating "our" russel or whoever gives them a sad lil connection.
