So glad that dude lost the mayor race, I usually don't feel genuine hate when I watch politics its like a soap opera kind of thing but the Cuomos are so vile.

he is what he is and cannot change.. when he goes down, all of those weakling wannabes (like Lindsey Graham.. the perpetual bobble head) and the snakes (yes.. you Stephen Miller!) wanting to be around power will suffer terribly..

I'm voting for Richard Nixon..
here's why:

in 1968 Nixon was just a private citizen.. he wanted to be President so badly it was killing him.. His idea was to have a 'Secret Plan' to end War in SE Asia.. he caught wind that there was a Peace Accord secretly agreed to and signed by USA, S KOREA, AUSTRALIA, N VIETNAM, CHINA, RUSSIA.. everyone with a horse in the race EXCEPT S VIETNAM..

Nixon saw his chance.. he communicated with S Vietnam's President Thieu and pleaded with him NOT TO SIGN IT.. Nixon promised him he'd get him a much better deal if he didn't sign..

and..Thieu didn't sign it.. therefore, America's involvement continued.. roughly 24,000 more Americans died.. maybe another 100,000 severe injuries.. tons more Agent Orange dumped.. all over SE Asia more than 1/2 million additional casualties (many non-combatants)..

Nixon finally went down for covering up the Watergate break-in.. but WHAT was he looking for?

sure.. dirt on Daniel Ellsberg.. but there was something more important to him..

Nixon was convinced that the DNC had transcripts from the calls with President Thieu that could unseat him..

he was a civilian conducting foreign policy contrary to the intentions of the elected President and US Gvmt..

that's also known as treason..

and, HE ALONE was responsible for so many unnecessary deaths between 1968 and 1973 (when our ground troops were finally home) it's sickening..

 

Nixon was still an asshole.
But people respected the office of the Presidency back then.
Now it's just a way to grift billions in office.

 

I respect your disgust for the current Hasnamuss-in Chief but Nixon had absolutely no regard for either 'honor or patriotism'.. the GOP Senators visited him the night before the vote to convict and explained he would - in fact - be convicted the next day..

so he resigned ONLY to save his skin and probable federal charges of treason..

BTW: I loathe everything about current Mango Man-in -Chief, but don't delude yourself into believing there's ANY military force in the planet (assuming nuclear weapons aren't deployed) that could stop USA from taking Greenland/Canada/all of NATO (Europe) combined..

other than China.. which is why CANADA would do well to pursue trade agreements with China.. China will start patrolling Western Pacific in greater numbers to 'remind' us that and attack on their ships delivering/receiving goods from Canada wouldn't be wise..

(it also redirects America's attention from CHINA's claims to South China Sea & Taiwan..)

very stupid move by DT to alienate NATO, CANADA and so many other nations..

Americas fleets will need to be everywhere; all at once..
it will force America to rely more on nuclear deterrence

he's got us in a pickle..CHINA now has free reign to trade with CANADA, we lose goods, our GDP drops, CHINA gets stronger in N Pacific, S Pacific trading w/western S America, S Atlantic trading with eastern S America.. and likely with India and S Africa

America's GDP will tank..

 

I believe China was already doing business with Canada. So what? Both countries can do what they like. Trade equals peace, most of the time if you don't weaponize it against every country in the world.

One day we and the rest of the world can blame everything that's happened and going to happen on Trump and his sycophants. We will get over him and MAGA will be treated in memory as American Nazis.

 

CANADÁ was doing some trade with China.. sure..

but Canada is about to sign agreement to buy 41,000 EVs from China; not the USA (maybe already has.. I cut my news services last week).. Canada is 'detaching' from USA

so very simple to convene NATO meeting and request of Denmark, Finland and Canada that America be allowed to jointly establish and develop military bases 10-20 military bases ion Greenland, Canada's North Provinces and In Finland.. America can absorb cost and baseline staffing.. NATO countries rotate in forces every 2-4 weeks.. Heck, Denmark's queen has already stated US could buy rare-Earth minerals... so he's just a bully who sees EVERTHING as zero-sum transactions..
