In fives and tens we're counting time That never seems to toe the line Where should we go from here? Climbing walls of forged veneer Can’t see the moon from here Up one mountain, chase another Nothing waits to be discovered I wonder why we even try We can't expect to get it right Until the moon reveals the night Licking wounds time can't erase We'll disappear without a trace And in the shadows we'll be safe.... Tonight we'll find where we belong In every note of a moonlit song Forget what's right, rewrite the wrong And then we'll know where we belong We'll know where we belong I look at you, I hear your voice And know I need no other choice I ache to touch your shining face And kiss your lips, my healing grace, As the moonlight finds its place Licking wounds time can't erase We'll disappear without a trace And in the shadows we'll be safe... In the shadows we'll be safe ________ 18-6-2013
That is beautiful. I am going through something right now and this really resonated with me. Thank you.
Thank you Moon Goddess! I really hope it can help in some way....? Yes YBican 2013, though a word or 2 are different here and there. I wrote so much back then, for about 3 years because my life had become so rich so quickly, but I don't even know where the words came from.
I also like writing poetry, but I couldn't do it in English. It only comes out in my native language.
Yeah that can be really hard to do. Poetry often needs to be rewritten some to make it sound as good as the original.
That's right. I have heard some songs translated into Spanish, but in reality, they have been rewritten. Sometimes they have used creativity to even maintain the rhyme in the other language, but in few cases. For example, in the saying that goes:" an apple a day keeps the doctor away." Someone translated it: " una manzana al día mantiene al doctor en la lejanía"(day/away = día/lejanía)
Beautiful words and poetry Lena I love reading people’s words, seeing what’s in there mind, see how there mind ticks, feeling what they are going through or what they want words are so powerful thank you for sharing
