I am struck by a comparison of the colonial minutemen with the current protesters. In colonial times the minutemen were a citizen body that responded to tyranny, aggression, and military threats. At a moment's notice they would assemble and initiate a rapid response to any threat with muskets and small arms. Today bodies of citizens seem to be assembling at a moment's notice when ICE appears. Instead of muskets they are equipped with cell phones, cameras, and whistles in a non violent documentary role. Some are even sounding a warning similar to Paul Revere , "ICE is coming, ICE is coming". So far two have been murdered. These people are the true patriots who are placing their lives on the line for freedom and democracy.
Well where are the militias that are supposed to protect us and democracy? Now that a legal gun owner was assassinated in Michigan just for carrying a gun, let's see if the gun nuts start to wake up to what is going on. When your militia shows up armed to protect the right to protest, then we can see if they're just cowards or really mean to protect the country from fascism. But more than likely the militias are the ones wearing the baclavas and killing innocent people in the streets. They're the deplorables from Jan 6th being weaponized against our democracy once again. They are Trump's gestapo. Make no mistake. They are learning how to kick down doors, tackle, subdue and kill fellow citizens without remorse or accountability. They are learning how to deal with large groups of people protesting. They just heard Iran had no problem murdering over 30,000 Iranians protesting in the streets. They too went into hospitals and schools and homes to round up and terminate protesters. And what will Trump do to Iran? Talk about hypocrisy....
And notice they work in gangs using intimidation, lethal force, and chaos to achieve their end....which is not emigration control but stopping the next national election.
