Autopilot, extra parachutes, ran out of fuel and descended.

Hello, group. Haven't posted here before. Please see my profile. The story intrigued me so I checked a few other sources. The best short essay on the subject was on the website Skeptoid, written by Brian Dunning, 5 August, 2020. It gives a mostly complete summary of the whole story without mentioning very many names. I assume he didn't get access to some people, or they weren't willing to tell their stories. This attitude is not uncommon among combat veterans of all wars, so it's not a cover up. But the video from You tube is mostly bull-loney

In answer to MeAgain, here's the citation. It's not a link, though, you'll have to get there the old fashioned way. Dunning, B. (2020, August 25) The Phantom Fortress. Skeptoid Media. The Phantom Fortress - Skeptoid

Thanks, that's what I thought, autopilot near the field, crash landing.
