Wife caught some of my private emails with proton. Does anyone know of an email service where you don't have to put in your real email, phone etc to get an account. Thanks
I don’t think that is possible. Everything is traceable and when you visit different places and sites you leave a trail of crumbs that can be followed.
If you're using a browser for, well, anything, you can go into the settings and tell the browser to clear all history upon exiting the browser but it would be best to do it yourself and once the history is cleared, it's gone. Same for cookies; delete them after every session; do not let the browser save any passwords to email clients you may use in a browser and definitely not for any site you may have been on that you don't want anyone to discover. How involved is this? Not very; it literally takes seconds to clear traces once you find out where to do this in the browser's settings. This becomes seriously important if (a) you share a computer with your wife and/or (b) she's prone to going through your phone. My lady, after almost 20 years, is still pissed with me because I won't tell her the passwords to any of my devices, not that I have anything to hide from her, mind you, but I don't like anyone messing with my shit and system security is an ingrained thing in me given what I used to do for a living. I change my passwords regularly, too. I love her to death... but my "business" is my business and if I'm not poking around in hers - and I could easily do that but I never would - then she doesn't get to poke around in mind, again, not that I have anything to hide. Just a matter of principle... Almost forgot. If you do share a computer with her, you can create a profile just for her that will be separate from your profile; this way, if you clear the history and cookies, you don't wipe out anything she's been doing and whatever passwords she's saving won't be visible to you - and like yours wouldn't be to her... unless she figured out the password to your profile.
