Hello everyone! We are kinda new to Europe; we have been living in Bavaria for 8 months and damn its cold compared to California, where we are from! :). We want to go somewhere warm on a budget in about 1 1/2 months. We have 2 children, so I think driving might be our most affordable option and we have plenty of camping gear. We would thinking about camping on the Spanish Coast, and perhaps taking a ferry to Morocco for a day, etc. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions, tips? Will it usually warm up a bit by then? Any other alternative destinations that are affordable for a family of 4? We would like to go before the crowds, but while it is warm (not blistering hot!). Thanks for your help.

if you want to be near Morocco, then your places are Cádiz, Málaga or Huelva, these 3 provinzes are in the Southern Andalucia, there are some good camping places there, and they are the closest places from Morocco, and in April it's hot enough to have the best baths in the sea, but when the summer comes all the zone becomes a crazyness of tourists and mad spanish from the centre who look for some sun and beach.

    hey now campers -

first advice is careful, 'free camping' really isn't legal. but the approved public campsites are loaded with people and noise and not my idea of chilling out. so you just have to find a spot where you think things will be cool. i wouldn't choose someplace by yourself until you really know the area. there are some baddies out there who have been known to pretend to be policia and get strange with hippies, travelers, van people, etc. even at beaches i know these days i still try and have someone within sight, but maybe that's just too many stories around campfire. bring lots of shade and lots of water. take care of yourselves.. jesse lalunamusica@hotmail.com
