I bought something off eBay about two weeks ago which never arrived, and when I check the tracking status, it reads that it is in the same place it's been since October 27th (Elizabethport, NJ). I think it's safe to say I won't be getting what I ordered, so the question is, who would I contact about this first: the post office, or the eBay seller I purchased the item from? Damn, this pisses me off.
This happened to me once. I did end up getting the thing in the mail, about 2 months later. It was a text book, so by that time it was too late. I called the seller and they said it was out of their hands and that they weren't obligated to issue a refund. I didn't think to call the post office, that might be a good idea. At the least they could tell you where to go from there.
Call whatever is getting it there. Give them the tracking information. Make sure you ask for a full refund if nothing improves.
File with paypal if they blow you off on fleabay. Its will drag it out, But you will win. In the meantime, Call the post office first and talk to the post master. Have him find it and call you back when he has it in his hand. Then have him put it back in circulation so you have the item.
file a paypal dispute if it's within the time limits they set if you didnt use paypal then you just cross your fingers..sing a little song and kick yourself in the ass
Thanks, E.H. I actually have found a UPS package under my welcome mat. It looked like one of those pics of a cat with a slice of bread on it's head, lol. Not well hidden at all. And I've read about others finding packages in their bushes.
How many sorting centers did it come through before it got stuck in that one? I've had RCs that came from overseas that stayed in US customs for over 2 weeks. I got the item and it had been opened and re taped with tape that said us customs. I guess they never could find out what that white powder was and sent it on. I was sure I was gonna get a letter instead. I don't know that there's a customs point in NJ tho, usually it comes through NYC customs. They have one in queens and another one I forget where where in NYC, also one in Chicago. Did it says it arrived there but never departed? If it departed but never arrived anywhere else then something probably went wrong. If it was just a regular sorting center it shouldn't stay there that long.
UPS were supposed to get a package to me within 3 days from China to New Zealand. It got to Auckland, New Zealand after 36 hours. It then sat in Auckland for 4 days before some idiot totally changed the address on it - despite it already having the correct address including postcode - it then sat in the courier processing centre for another four days before I called and found out wtf was going on. I was told they couldn't figure out where it was going to so they just left it. Despite it having my number on it, and the sender's number. Needless to say I would rather eat my own brain than use them again.
is it at a UPS or Fedex? I think you'd call them and they'll let you come by to pick it up with your state ID to confirm you're the person who ordered the item. Something like that happened to me. My package was stuck at Fedex because it got sent back after being delivered because apartment number wasn't written on it.. I just re-read and noticed you said it's in nj, so scratch the above, I guess...or road trip? joking... call the post office/fed ex/ups it's stuck at.. I think you'll still get your package. There's just probably a delay for whatever reason..
At my last job we would send samples of pigment through ups . We had a rush order one time. Just got the 3 ounce can out in time. It was insured for $400. I can just imagine the punk that stole it thinking they were getting something worth hundreds of dollars in a tiny box. You know they must have been thinking jewelry. I would love to see the look on his face when he sees a completely useless can of paint that dosnt dry.
I just got a christmas card that was marked 1 December!! (Must have gotton lost and they found it??) I tell ya,I would much rather get the box of VHS tapes from Colorado I ordered from ebay last year!! What happens to stuff they say got lost?? Things have an address on them. What happens to it?? I have had several ebay things not come......... (Gotton "lost") Its a bunch of BS!!
Is that VHS about Navy Seal Training for BUD'S. Wish you got your videos, it's not as bad if they lost the card as such .
Had something similar a couple of years ago. We ordered something from the US for my missus. It cost a couple of hundred pounds. We waited for it to arrive for a couple of weeks, and then one day, I was just going to put the bin out for the bin men when I happened to open the lid, just to check that everything was as it should be. There I found a large box with my wife's name and our address on it. Not knowing what it was I asked her if she'd thrown out a box recently. She said no, so I went and retrieved it from the bin. It turned out to be the item she'd ordered from America. If I hadn't checked the bin, it would have been emptied that morning into the rubbish lorry and gone forever. So now I check the bins every time I put one out, just in case there's something in it that shouldn't be. I didn't know who delivered it, as there was nothing on the box to identify the courier company, but if I'd found out at the time, I'd have given them a piece of my mind!
Wow why would they put it in the BIN?? You could have very easily disposed of it!!! Yes JOEY .. I would rather have gotton the tapes!! MY QUESTION IS WHAT HAPPEND TO THEM?? They told my dad it was lost.. IT HAS TO BE SOMEWHERE IN THIER OFFICE!! Unless someone physically stole it!!
