No, the stock market didn't dip because of Greenland, they dipped because of you, jackass - and your constant market manipulation. So, quit fucking with my life savings.

Trump confuses Iceland with Greenland at least four times during speech.

Trump made the same mistake a day earlier.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/21/us/politics/trump-greenland-iceland-confusion.html

    excerpt:

Mr. Trump also mistook the two countries a day earlier, while speaking to reporters at the White House for 90 minutes to mark the anniversary of his return office. Mr. Trump has threatened hefty tariffs on European countries standing between him and his quest for control of Greenland. “As an example,” he told reporters before traveling to Switzerland, “Iceland, without tariffs, they wouldn’t even be talking to us about it.”

Newsmax will defend Trump by saying he got the names of the countries wrong his way and he did it with style.

After Trump was seen staring at the 2017 solar eclipse naked-eye, a talking head on Newsmax defended Trump by saying he did it his way and did it with style.

Trump doesn't allow any medical eggheads to tell him what to do to prevent blindness.

People who want to be dictators should at least know the names of the countries they want to annex.

    Halligan is gone.

Lindsey Halligan departs Justice Department hours after Trump-appointed federal judge calls her leadership a ‘charade’
By Devan Cole and Kristen Holmes

    https://www.cnn.com/2026/01/20/politics/lindsey-halligan-judge-vitriol-charade

    excerpt:

Lindsey Halligan, President Donald Trump’s handpicked interim US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, left her position at the Justice Department Tuesday, marking an end to her turbulent tenure bringing cases against the president’s political enemies.

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Halligan’s exit in a post on X Tuesday evening, writing that it “is a significant loss” for the department and noting that she “will continue to serve her country in other ways.”

Halligan tried to indict Trump foes Comey and Letitia James but failed because she hadn't been appointed legally.

    https://www.cnn.com/2026/01/20/politics/lindsey-halligan-judge-vitriol-charade

    excerpt:

"Last May, they voted unanimously to keep Erik Siebert, whose 120-day stint as interim US attorney was coming to a close, in the job. He continued serving in the position until September, when he left the office amid pressure from the president and others to pursue criminal charges against James, a longtime Trump foe.

That’s when Halligan took the reins of the office in Alexandria, Virginia, and moved quickly to single-handedly bring the cases against Comey and James, which fell apart when the judge determined she was serving in the position unlawfully."

Clinton picking up House seats in the 1998 midterms is part of what precipitated Newt Gingrich stepping down from Speaker of the House and Congress.

Gingrich had been predicting that the GOP would pick up a significant number of House seats.

People in the GOP had already been calling for Gingrich to give up his Speakership.

    Article from November 1998.

Speaker's surprise decision follows challenge from Livingston; post-election recriminations continue

WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, November 6) -- In the face of a brewing rebellion within the Republican Party over the disappointing midterm election, House Speaker Newt Gingrich made the stunning decision Friday to step down not just from the speakership, but also leave Congress.

"Today I have reached a difficult personal decision. I will not be a candidate for Speaker of the 106th Congress," Gingrich said in a written statement released Friday evening.

Trump Suffers Greenland Meltdown in Late-Night Truth Social Rant

    excerpt:

In another post, Trump accused the United Kingdom of “GREAT STUPIDITY” and “total weakness” for its plan to give the Chagos Islands to Mauritius, citing it as proof that the United States needs control over Greenland.

However, just last year, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Trump supported the plan. Rubio said Trump considered the handover a “monumental achievement.”

Trump Suffers Greenland Meltdown in Late-Night Truth Social Rant

    excerpt:

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Sunday refused to rule out U.S. military action on Greenland.

He told NBC’s Meet the Press that “Greenland can only be defended if it is part of the US, and it will not need to be defended if it is part of the U.S”.

“I believe that the Europeans will understand that this is best for Greenland, best for Europe and best for the United States,” he said.

Trump Suffers Greenland Meltdown in Late-Night Truth Social Rant

    excerpts:

“NATO has been telling Denmark, for 20 years, that ‘you have to get the Russian threat away from Greenland’,” Trump posted. “Unfortunately, Denmark has been unable to do anything about it. Now it is time, and it will be done!!!”

“These Countries, who are playing this very dangerous game, have put a level of risk in play that is not tenable or sustainable,” he wrote. “Therefore, it is imperative that, in order to protect Global Peace and Security, strong measures be taken so that this potentially perilous situation end quickly, and without question.”

Billions in Trump’s tax and spending cuts bill are paying for ICE – NBC 6 South Florida

    excerpt:

What Trump called the “big, beautiful bill” is essentially on autopilot through 2029, the year he's scheduled to finish his term and leave office.

The legislation essentially doubled annual Homeland Security funding, adding $170 billion to be used over four years. Of that, ICE, which typically receives about $10 billion a year, was provided $30 billion for operations and $45 billion for detention facilities.

“The first thing that comes to mind is spending on this level is typically done on the military,” said Kathleen Bush-Joseph, a policy analyst at the Migration Policy Institute. “Trump is militarizing immigration enforcement.”

As the U.S. marks a year of measles outbreaks, is the disease back for good?

    excerpt:

"Measles requires very high levels of population immunity to squelch transmission; at least 95 percent of people in a community must have immunity from prior infection or vaccination. And national vaccination efforts played a central role in raising those population immunity levels in the U.S., says Orenstein, a professor emeritus at Emory University, who has worked on measles elimination for decades. The recommended two doses of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine is 97 percent effective at preventing disease, generally for life. “This intervention can stop and break the chains of transmission,” he says.

Before the MMR vaccine became available in 1963, the U.S. saw, on average, four million cases, 48,000 hospitalizations and 400 to 500 deaths per year from measles. Most people know measles for its itchy rash, but it can cause high fevers, ear infections, severe dehydration, pneumonia and chronic brain inflammation, or encephalitis, Orenstein says.

Such severe measles cases—largely unseen in U.S. hospitals for decades—came roaring back during recent outbreaks."
