Yeah it's very good and the guy is clearly very talented and I recommend it but I can't help thinking he is a bit overrated in music press circles as there many equally if not better new folk artists that get no coverage or praise whatsoever that are way better and more interesting than Banhart. It's been said by many before but he has a more than a slight resemblance to Marc Bolan when in Tyrannosaurus Rex, Very good album though cheers HD
The Jam- Beat Surrender. It was £3.97 in Asda so I thought what the hell, I'll never see it that cheap again.
I bought the new Pat Metheny CD recently - The Way Up. More top notch stuff from his excellent outfit. This one's written as a single symphonic work, divided into four parts which could be treated as movements. Never had him down as a Wagner type but basically that's where he's going with this one. It's all about gradual progressions from one idea to the next, and at the same time carrying the important leitmotifs through, yet still very much a piece of jazz with lots of room for some truly excellent solos from all of the band. The only drawback to it is the absence of Richard Bona on this album.
The last cd I got was for my wife... Joss Stone - Mind, Body & Soul... The last one I got for myself... Doves - Some Cities... Fly...

The Mars Volta-Frances the Mute Jack Johnson-In Between Dreams I just have to say that I love Jack Johnson. He is so mellow, so on one level you could just veg out and listen to just the music. But on another level the lyrics have actual meaning. I think I'm in love..
