i see a lot of media/social examples now of edging / orgasm control - from my point of view - male - i like edging and found it really good - although my wife does not like to do that much - ex used to BUT she hates it , if she gets anywhere close and stops , then loses the urge completely ... i'm the first person she had orgasms with anyway - all her previous partners did not bother or she put them off, not sure why - but it took a while to suggest she had an orgasm anyway i just wondered if this is more a male thing then a female thing ???
The difference in hormone secretion during sex is what makes men and women differ on edging. Men will get hit with a large amount of dopamine right at orgasm and come down quickly. Women don't. Edging for men prolongs the release because the orgasm is staved off and dopamine isn't released. We get near the peak and back off only to rise again and again this way. But once we go over the top, it's over. Women can get over the top and like the energizer bunny, keep on going. But they become wrought with frustration if not allowed to get to the top or edged. Men don't get frustrated by edging.
Speaking as a senior male. My wife and I do practice edging. It does take practice and being keenly aware of your body. There are times we connect just to edge and not for orgasm purposes.
