I agree with some of that, but not the statement about not being turned on by my penis. I masturbate because looking at my penis turns me on. I masturbate because touching my hard penis turns me on. I masturbate because stroking my penis feels wonderful and my orgasms feel amazing. None of this has anything to do with sexual orientation or the need to procreate. Humans are "hard wired" to seek and enjoy pleasure. Playing with one's penis is an easy and very accessible way to attain pleasure. I don't think there is anything weird about the act of masturbation itself, but watching some men masturbate can be weird. No offense, but some men have the strangest methods and techniques when masturbating and it just looks odd. Other than that, there is nothing weird or wrong about any man, straight or gay playing with his own cock!! I am not even sure what to think about this back and forth from the original replies 5 years ago. Sounds like the religous groups when growing up saying that masterbation was a sin. that anus' are for pooping only. If that was true then where did the idea of prostate massage being good for both your prostrate and your sexual health come from? Or if a young man was horny the only way to address it was to find a woman to relieve him. That option does exist, but it was either get married or find a prostitute. Jerking off or masteurbation is quite normal for the human male. If I get an erection he’s telling me that he wants attention and I’m not going to neglect him, I’m going to give it to him and keep him happy.

 

I think we need to find different, more appropriate terminology. Jerking off, jacking off, pulling your pud, boxing the clown and even masturbation all sound so overly aggressive. Anyone have any suggestions they think might be more appropriate?

Masturbation is one of my favorite things. I was never taught growing up that it was wrong to look at yourself or to touch yourself (thank the gods above!). So when I discovered how great is felt to stroke my penis I just kept doing it every chance I got.
