This is a question I just have to ask, it's for fun, but I am also curious, how many of you still use popular social media platforms such Facebook, Instagram, Threads and X? I hear they are still popular, but I don't believe it anymore.
Me neither. Not interested and to be perfectly honest I am totally pissed with people sprouting bullshit that they have read on social media, have not researched and then regurgitated like it was the absolute truth!
I'm on Facebook only. I used Reddit in the past for a short while. The others are of no interest to me.
I'm on Facebook and Reddit. Reddit is such a hoot lol. I have an Instagram and Snapchat, but don't use it until someone I know messages me there. WhatsApp for international friends. Oh, and there is a cool penpal site out there called Interpals I'm on. I have people I write handwritten letters to in Poland, Australia, Mississippi, and Texas. It's a lot of fun.
I understand how many people feel about popular social media sites, those of you who don't like them or don't use them, all I'm going to say....is good for you! I think you all are awesome for turning away from them, in my personal opinion, they are bad news! I used Facebook for many years, but I'm no longer on any of those sites, quite frankly because they proved to me, that I don't belong on them, message received, message accepted! lol. I do find Reddit to be both interesting and fun. I will suggest Substack Notes, which I think is good for posting thoughts, feelings, and information. I'm actually trying to build alternatives to social networks Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, what I'm doing is more creative, and making social media fun again. My social network alternatives are more about visuals, and entertainment, which is what I believe social media is supposed to be like. Anyways, I was just curious to see if anyone would answer this question, and how many people would be willing to share. I keep thinking someone needs to take polls about social media, I think someone needs the feedback on them.
I tried a second time to create an account on Reddit. For the second and final time, I did not receive any response from Reddit - ever. Another waste of time and bandwidth. *r$5(%e3e3E3e!
I’m hearing of more people coming off things like Facebook.. I rarely go on there, these days, and I don’t use anything else, much. Couple of local sporting whatsapp groups, I use it as a messenger app, with a few friends and relatives. Never got the point of Twitter.. I think if you can use these things on your own terms, and not get sucked in, they’re fine, but they can be toxic and destructive if you let them..
I got kicked off FB a few months ago for some reason. When I tried to appeal against the ban I got a dialog box on my screen telling me I had to provide a video selfie to prove I'm not a robot. Needless to say, I haven't done that, and am now FB free! As for other social media sites, never bothered, as FB had all the people on it that I used to keep in touch with. However, I can live without it, and them, so I'll just go on living my own life from now on.
Whatever happened to email and texting? Then there's these things called phones. It's an app that comes with your....phone. Whole generations don't use their phones as phones. I bet they don't even know anyone's phone number without looking it up. Why put your personal info and convos on a corporate social network so they can better target you with endless ads. As you can see, Hipforums does not do that. We don't require ID, only email addy. No selling your info to ad companies. That's why the site needs everyone's support to continue to function. Most of the funding comes from our members (and admins). So upgrade your account and see what you're missing!
I used to have a Reddit, Instagram and Facebook account, and I deleted them all back in 2018. I will occasional lurk on Reddit and Twitter, and it just keeps getting worse and worse. The fact that Eglin Air Force Base(96th Cyberspace Test Group, 47th Cyberspace Test Squadron, 48th Cyberspace Test Squadron, 692nd Cyberspace Operations Squadron's (GSU) are stationed there) was listed as one of the most reddit addicted cites should tell you all you need to know about how social media is being use.

No FB/insta/twatter/snap/ect/ect................and proud of it.......was already done with the hole "social" thing before that, icq/msn/4chan/ect scared the shit out of me(people).......My social media is mostly gamers or game related...........or outside I do find it interesting(interwebz culture)..... and what it does to youth/people/society..........teach em better Mzzls
Many business these days use Facebook for their account. I have a Facebook plus TikTok. Just have to be careful who you accept as friends.
When I deleted my social media a while back, my friends were surprised. In a way, social media had become almost mandatory. For me, it was disrupting my connection with nature, and I needed to break free from it. Today, I'm ready to return, but definitely not to Facebook or Instagram, which I consider too saturated with unnecessary content. I'm considering X. I'll try to set up a profile there in the next few days. If anyone would like to be contacted, please send me a message
